Bryan Lockwood is a proven industry veteran with a nearly 40-year track record of restructuring and developing restaurant brands. His leadership, creative strategy, financial prowess, sense of character, and relentless pursuit of excellence drive a result that creates significant value for stakeholders. Mr. Lockwood believes in the power of vision. He is able to see the potential in brands and then invest in a talented team of operations, development, recruiting, culinary, HR, marketing, and construction people to get results. Mr. Lockwood has a specific skill set for growing restaurants, which includes developing a framework, brand clarification, messaging, demographic studies, site selection criteria, trade dress, people development, training people to achieve an emotional connection and innovation. He is an expert at setting high standards and empowering staff and cross-functional teams to achieve excellence. His “what gets measured, gets done” approach to accountability has created tremendous value in the industry. He is currently the Principal at Rare One, LLC, a private investment company specializing in restaurants and hospitality.
During the last 20 years, Mr. Lockwood served as the CEO of California based Stonefire Grill with an AUV of $6.7M, Real Mex Restaurants with over 90 restaurants including iconic brands such as El Torito, Chevys Fresh Mex, Acapulco, Las Brisas, Sinigual, and the upscale El Torito Grill and was President and CEO of Tavistock Restaurants. Prior to Tavistock, Mr. Lockwood was a strategic consultant for seven years to a number of financial institutions with “workout” problems in the lending arena, as well as for restaurateurs and hoteliers. His specific skills in strategic planning and analysis, leadership, complex change management, organizational effectiveness, and communications were critical to his success.
Bryan married his high school sweetheart, Julie Rose and has four children and fourteen grandchildren. Although very passionate about the game, he is a struggling bogey-golfer. He loves to learn and is a voracious reader. He has an extensive wine collection of over 1200 bottles and enjoys sharing his knowledge and interest with friends and family.
